Chris' Top 5 Rides In Walt Disney World

Hello everyone, today I want to bring you my top 5 rides from Walt Disney World. I will rank them from 5 to 1, 5 being the lowest and 1 being the highest. They will be rides from any of the 4 parks at Walt Disney World and my personal favorites. Without further hesitation, let's begin:

5. Peter Pan's Flight
This may seem like a odd choice, but Peter Pan is one of my favorite Disney movies, so to be able to go on a ride that takes you through that movie is just great to me. Peter Pans flight opened October 1st 1971 when the Magic Kingdom opened. It was an expanded version of the ride that was originally from Disneyland. The ride was meant for you to experience flying as Peter Pan. It is a great ride to bring out your inner child.

4. Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is in my top 5 because I like water and enjoy water rides. My first experience on Kali River Rapids was interesting, Alice and myself on our trip to Disney World in 2012 were boarding the ride and we noticed that we were the only two on the ride not wearing poncho's. Sure enough as we came to the final drop in the ride, the raft turned and we got soaked! Even though we were completely drenched, it was so much fun and a great memory that we now have. Kali River Rapids opened in Animal Kingdom March 18th 1999.

3. Test Track
There is no better feeling than going 65 mph. After going through the inside of the ride, it is a great feeling as that car accelerates and you can feel the wind in your hair, well I guess if I had hair! Test Track originally opened in Epcot March 17th 1999. It would eventually be closed down and remodeled by Chevrolet. It reopened with new design your own "Sim Car" December 26th 2012. I personally enjoy designing ridiculous looking cars and see how it holds up.

2. Expedition Everest
Beware of the Yeti! At least that's what they say. I love thrill rides and it is really fun going backwards on a roller coaster in the dark. Upon your first experiences on Expedition Everest, it's great not knowing when all of the twist's and turns are going to happen. As you go barreling through the mountain and nearly getting swiped by the Yeti himself it keeps you on the edge of your seat until you come down that final drop. Expedition Everest opened in Animal Kingdom April 7th 2006.

1. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
My number 1 ride in Disney World is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith. It is in my opinion the best thrill ride in all of Disney World. It takes you from 0 - 60 in 2.8 seconds and gives you the experience of 4.5 g's. With the speed and force of the ride and you add some classic rock tunes of Aerosmith, you have a recipe for a awesome thrill ride. I find it incredibly relaxing as you go through loops as you rock out to "Walk This Way". A fun thing to do is to try and make a funny face for the camera as you are reaching 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster opened in Hollywood Studios July 29th 1999.

Disney World Planning: Making your ADR's

Hi Friends,

Now that you have picked the restaurants for your upcoming trip, you will want to book as close to the 180 day mark from your vacation date. Sometimes it's not possible to book at the 180 day mark, but the earliest you can book, the better. The practice of booking so far in advance is becoming more and more necessary with the popularity of the Disney dining plan.

Just a few days ago I had a friend tell me he couldn't get into the Be Our Guest restaurant on an upcoming trip because it was already full.  Now I'm not saying that this is the case always, I mean I've been in some restaurants that have been fairly empty but the popular restaurants do full up quickly.

You have 2 options for booking your ADR'S:

1. Book online, sign into your Disney world account and follow the steps under make a dining reservation. (Under the what to eat heading) You will get a conformation number, make sure you write it down.

2. Call Disney worlds dining reservation number and talk to a wonderful Disney cast member who can book them as you chat. You will get a conformation number, make sure you write it down.

Chris and I have booked both ways and they both have their pros and cons:
Online
Pro: You can book at your own pace
Pro: Access to the restaurants basic information and sometimes menu's
Con: You can have computer, internet, or website issues that may delay booking
Con: You don't have access to all of the available times

Phone
Pro: You can talk directly to a Disney Cast Members who have access to all available times
Pro: Disney Cast Members are able to trouble shoot any issues you have with restaurants
Pro: You tell the Cast Member what you want and they do their best to accommodate your needs
Con: You may have to wait on hold if the Disney Cast Members are busy
Con: It takes time and sometimes money (if you don't have a long distance plan) to call and go through several reservations

Hopefully this helps with making your dining reservations through Disney. I will be back next time to explain what to do with your reservation numbers once you get them. Have a magical night!

A New Stage of Life

When we had booked our Disney World trip for January 2016, we had grand plans to take loads of photo's and video's to share with everyone on here and our Instagram and YouTube. But in December 2015 one of the greatest things in our lives happened, we found out that Alice is pregnant! We made some adjustments to our Disney plan and began our drive down to Disney World. When we arrived myself and Alice began to get the feeling to just enjoy our time down there. We decided since this would be our last trip just the two of us to just enjoy each others company and relax.

In comparison to our last few trips, this one was very different and we both felt very contempt with it. We didn't take many photo's and we didn't film to many videos. We did manage to get some things off of our Disney bucket list and we discussed plans to bring our child on their first trip.

We enjoyed our time and we enjoyed each others company as we looked to our future. With this we will take some steps back and focus on the birth of our child. We hope you continue to enjoy Disney as much as we do and keep in touch to see our adventures we will begin in this new stage of life for us!

Walt Disney World Trip Report 2012 Day 10

Day 10 Wednesday January. 18, 2012    Day 1  Day 2  Day 3  Day 4  Day 5        Day 6  Day 7  Day 8  Day 9

Well unfortunately this day had to come, the dreaded departure day. This was Chris's and my first vacation just the two of us and it was coming to an end. We spent the morning finishing up packing and going over all the documents we would need to travel home. We shared memories together that we had made throughout our ten days at Disney World. We wondered when we would be able to return to such a magical place.

We checked out of our hotel room at the Pop Century and checked our luggage at the front of the hotel until the Magical Express came to pick us up. We went to the food court in the hotel and had one last bite to eat and watched some of the cartoons they had on.

The Magical Express came and picked us up and whisked us away to the Orlando International Airport where we waited for our late flight home. We said goodbye to warm Florida and headed back to snowy Canada. As soon as we were home we started discussing when we would like to go back.

Thank you for reminiscing and reading along on our first adventure to Disney World.

Walt Disney World Trip Report 2012 Day 9

Day 9 Tuesday January. 17, 2012    Day 1  Day 2  Day 3  Day 4  Day 5  Day 6  Day 7  Day 8

Day 9 was our final day in Disney World, so the only place you can spend your last day in Disney World is Magic Kingdom! We were back again for the opening show and headed right to the rides right away. We rode Space and Splash Mountain a few times knowing this would be our last time for awhile. After getting all of the rides out of our system we started to explore more of the park that we didn't explore the other day. We spent some time admiring the art work in Cinderella's Castle, it's beautiful and amazing the detail in there!

We went walking around Fantasyland and later on Chris and I even found ourselves in stocks! We headed over to the train station after and spent some time looking at all the detail put in the station. We went up and waited for the train, as we wanted to take it all the way around Magic Kingdom. We headed back over to the Pirates of The Caribbean area and Chris got to meet his favorite character Goofy!

We once again headed back to the hotel for some rest. We headed back to Magic Kingdom for the evening and took advantage of riding some more rides while people watched The Main Street Electrical Parade. Afterwards we got ourselves a spot to watch Wishes. What a fantastic way to end our magical vacation seeing such a great fireworks show. We waited for majority of the crowd to leave before making our exit from the park. We went back to the hotel and got some time to pack and be ready to leave in the morning!

Stay tuned for our final day...

Walt Disney World Trip Report 2012 Day 8

Day 8 Monday January. 16, 2012    Day 1  Day 2  Day 3  Day 4  Day 5  Day 6  Day 7

Day 8 at Disney World we decided to have a more relaxing day. We slept in late and planned on just spending the day at the hotel and Downtown Disney. We explored all of the shops that Downtown Disney has to offer and bought some souvenirs, Chris's favorite store was of course the Pin Trading store. We spent a lot of time there and did some trading with the cast members.

We had early dinner reservations at Planet Hollywood. It was a very good dinner and it was really neat to see all of the movie memorabilia. We headed over to the World of Disney store after and checked out all of the cool merchandise. We went to the Lego store after and it was amazing all of the creations they are able to make with Lego. After that we headed back to the hotel to do some more relaxing.

Stay tuned for day 9...
